Lizzy Greener Questions

1 Before your discovery in 2013, what got you into acting?
I have always loved performing in front of an audience. My music teacher told me in the first grade that I needed to go to the local theatre and sign up. As soon as I started I knew I was in heaven. I realized I loved to make people laugh. What I did not realize was I had joined the absolute best theatre group “Fun House Theatre & Film.” My director Jeff Swearingen literally changed my life. He took my love for performing to the next level. While I was performing in a play an Agent was in the audience and one thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was on my way to LA to audition for a new Nickelodeon show called “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn.” Auditions were the key to doing what I loved and I learned very quickly that they were the key to landing the amazing roles. My director always said I had nerves of steal and performing/auditioning has always been a very happy place for me. The excitement of what could be! I do not regret anything I have done and feel so grateful for the position I am in. I could not ask for more.

2 Tell us more about your experience with the Kid’s Choice Awards nomination
I was SO excited! I actually did a few cartwheels and jumping up and down. I am still grateful that they recognized me in that way. I have always watched the Kid’s Choice Awards, never did I think I would be nominated.

3 What is it like being in a show with mostly boys?

For the first two seasons it was a little tricky because there were not a lot of girls around, but
appreciated the fact that there is less drama with boys. The four of us really operate like real siblings. We somehow have managed to make it wor
k and come out still liking each other. We share something that we will have for the rest of our lives.

4 What is one of the funniest things that has happened on set?
Last season they surprised me after filming with a birthday cake at the end of the day. After they sang to me I asked if I could smash my face in the cake. It was messy but awesome. Another moment occurred when I was on a break eating lunch and did not realize I was standing in front of the cameras. Oops!

5 What similarities are there between you and your character, Dawn?
We are pretty much the same person. We are both funny, kind and born leaders. One thing about me is I live in the very moment I am in at the time and Dawn is the exact same. No need to be concerned about the past or the future.

6 Which guest star on Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn were you most excited to work with?
Alex Morgan for sure! I have played soccer since I was four and I have always looked up to
her. To this day I still cannot believe I got to to work with her.

7 What was one of the most fun things you have ever filmed on Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn?
The Ballet episode, I got to be more physical and show off some gymnastics skills.

8 How do you balance school and filming?
If we are in production during the school year my day looks like this. 7AM school until 10AM. Rehearse from 10-12 lunch 12-12:30, rehearse 12:30-3:00, network people show up and we run the show from beginning to end which lasts an hour. We can only work 9.5 hours a day so if there is any time left in the day they send us back to school. It is a lot of work, but I love every minute. And if I work hard at school and get ahead in my classes, I finish early and can chill for the rest of the school year. So that 7am call turns into 10am. Our set teachers are great and I
really love working with them.

9 Do your friends and family treat you differently now that you have a successful acting career?
Everyone pretty much treats me the same. I will say my family and friends have a lot of questions for me when I go home. But the ones that know me best know that I am only thinking about being home at the time. I leave NRDD on Stage 19. Getting used to being recognized
in public has been weird. But I know I am still the same girl I was when all of this started.

10 We know that you love music, what artist inspires you?
Melanie Martinez. I am actually listening to her while I am answering these questions. She has a
message behind every one of her songs they are very clever. She was on The Voice and I admire how she has used her position to speak to people. I am listening
